Within the framework of the 50th Latin American Computer Conference, the traditional Master’s and Doctoral Thesis Competitions will be held.

The objective of the competition is to identify and promote the best regional master’s and doctoral theses in Informatics, Computing, or other related areas, from an Ibero-American university member of CLEI, in one of the disciplinary areas defined in the computing curriculum established by the IEEE/ACM.

The deadline for receipt of papers is May 10, 2024.

Participation is open to individuals who have graduated between April 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024, from a master’s or doctoral program at an Ibero-American or Caribbean university that is a member of CLEI. The work submitted must be individual (not in groups). Applicants must have fully completed their curriculum, including the defense of the thesis before an examining board.

To participate in the competition, each applicant must submit an abstract of his or her thesis in which only he or she appears as the author.

The evaluation committee will choose three finalist theses for the awards. The prizes will consist of a CLEI diploma indicating the place obtained in the competition and will be awarded to the winners in person, after a 30-minute presentation in person at the awards session during the L Latin American Conference on Informatics (CLEI 2024). Failure to make an oral presentation will not entitle the winner to the corresponding prize or to publication in the proceedings of the Latin American Computer Conference.
