Based as much on scientific literature as in results of an empirical study about ERP systems implantation, this article it proposes a theoretical model of successful adoption of ERP systems for medium Chilean companies. First, it justifies the scientific and practical necessity of the study with quantitative approaches of the successful implantation of ERP systems. Second, it exposes the initial model and the summary of the results of its empirical validation using PLS (Partial Least Square). The empirical validation of the initial model was made in a set of 72 Chilean organizations with ERP systems in operation. The results of this validation indicate the reliability and validity of the measurement scales of the model. And third, it presents a reviewed theoretical model. The proposed reviewed theoretical model is composed of six antecedents of the success of the adoption of ERP system that impact in four dimensions that measure the consequences of this adoption. The six antecedents of the success are: executive commitment; information technologies skills; business processes skills; in ERP training; learning; and predisposition for the change. The four dimensions that measure the success of the adoption of system ERP are: system quality; information quality; service quality; and net benefits.
