In this work an alternative method is presented for the control of a hammer it breaks rocks used in the underground mining applying recognition of sound patterns. In general, the analysis of the sound is carried out in the time or in the frequency, in this case a method is presented based on the space analysis of the sound to recognize sound patterns using the grouping in clusters related with the vicinity of complex patterns.
The initial problem is to capture the sounds with relationship to the actions you specify that he/she carries out the hammer in its daily operation, then, these sounds are digitized and they are used to generate sound patterns of each action that has been described. Later on, all sound captured in an interval of specific time and related with these recognition patterns, it is processed, surrendering of exit a sign that indicates for the new captured sound, to what class or action pattern belongs, and in what grade, to generate a control sign toward the automatic system of control or toward the operator of the system.
The programs have been generated that allow the capture of sounds from a standard format, either from the sound interface or from the associate videotape image that you/they allow in turn to digitize this sound and to obtain their complex representation in the frequency, and to leave of her to apply the denominated method "Vicinity of Complex" to generate the patterns of sounds that will form the recognition clusters.
