Abstract

This paper presents a practical case of use of the Catalysis Approach in the Construction of a Framework in an N-tier Architecture. This framework was used to develop the Values Quotation component of PLATIN - Londrina Platform of Information Technology. The development of the component was made by the Software Factory team with the support of the Software Engineer Laboratory of UNIFIL - University Center Filadélfia. It served as a study case to show the use of recent techniques for the development of components using distributed objects in the tiers architecture style, and to demonstrate how these techniques can complement each other. The other result of this work is related to the production of a reusable component - values quotation - which can be used in other applications such as cost estimation of materials and equipment price.
